Metamorphosis Monday - Shabby to Chic

It's time again for Metamorphosis Monday, hosted by Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com.

I received this little curio cabinet as a wedding shower gift nearly 25 years ago from my brother's now-ex-wife. (There is a lady who should blog, you should see the great things she has done in her house. Seriously!) Anyway, I've always loved this but wanted to change it up and use it in my bedroom at the new house, which I am going to do in a shabby chic style.

So I painted it a creamy white and distressed it. I started having doubts with the first coat of paint, but I really love how it turned out and can't wait to accessorize it once it's hung up in the new house.Have a great week everyone!

Hi Tracy! This is so cute! I love it white. I have this same little piece that my mother gave to my daughter. My daughter didn't want it and I've had it every since with little porcelain boxes in it. I've just never thought of painting it! You're giving me some inspiration here!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

Your special piece looks really wonderful in white. I actually like it better that way. It feels more up to date. I hope you plan on posting pictures after you fill it.
