Christmas on my (Substitute) Mantel

I've been decorating for over a week but I don't think I quite hit the zone yet.  You know, when you feel like everything is in the right place and just the way you like it?  Yeah, I'm not feeling it just yet.  But I think I'm ok with my mantel (technically, mantel substitute, faux mantel, whatever you would like to call it.  And yes, I do realize it's a dresser).  Here it is:

Forgive the rumple-y slipcover, the cat sleeps all day on that ottoman and I didn't want to get her in a huff.

Here are the skates I got at the flea market a few weeks ago.  I added some glittery ribbon for laces.  I had intended to use them outside but realized that with no protection, they would get ruined if it rained.

Last week after I finished Big Frenchy, I put away all my paint supplies and cleaned up, vowing to wait until after Christmas to work on the table and chairs.

I just can't leave well enough alone.  So while I should be spending my free time tweaking my Christmas decorations and shopping and baking cookies, I am making a mess instead.  Have a nice weekend!

Oh, it's beautiful! Next year, I'mma gonna get me a little tree like the one on your mantle, ah huh, I am.

I have the exact same table and chairs. I knew you couldn't stop! A kindred soul. I can't wait to see how it turns out. It's all going to come together phenomenally!

I was in the garage today, putting together the top of one table onto the base of another. Now, I have to get to painting it, can I have some of your energy please? ! LOL

The dresser looks perfect. At the lake we have a stone fireplace and no mantel so I just decorate every surface I can!! lol! This looks so festive and pretty, I love the silver candlesticks and the skates are awesome!

I'm in the middle of some major organizing projects since my son moved out, but that is the sort of thing you love to put off! I am in love with your hutch!

Happy Holidays!!

XO,
Jane

I think it looks great Tracy, but I know what you mean. I am feeling that way about my mantel this year. We are in a new home this Christmas and the mantel is different than what I had {smaller} so I'm trying to rethink the decorating. I've decided it's staying the way it is at this point!
